If you have too many pending Fort Worth traffic tickets, or have serious traffic convictions on your driving record, such as DWI, you may be up against DL suspension. The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) will send you, via mail, a Notice of Suspension, notifying you of this. Once you have received your DL suspension notice, you will have a limited amount of time during which you may request a hearing with the Tarrant County Justice Court. During this time, you may also wish to retain the Law Office of Attorney Jack Byno to defend against your Fort Worth DL suspension. Our defense lawyers have been fighting driver's license suspension in court on behalf of clients for over 20 years. For more information, please complete our DL Suspension Contact Form.
If your driver's license has been designated for imminent suspension, you will be made aware of this beforehand by DPS, who will mail you a Notice of Suspension. You will be given 20 calendar days to respond to this notice by requesting a Fort Worth DL Suspension Hearing. If you choose to hire Jack Byno & Associates to challenge your DL suspension, and our law firm is able to represent you in the Tarrant County JP Court, you may have a better chance at getting your Fort Worth DL suspension overruled. If you are for any reason unsure as to the reasons behind the suspension of your driver's license, you may request a copy of you Texas Driving Record.
There are several potential traffic-related causes behind the suspension of any driver's license:
Has your driver's license been suspended because you have not responded to your DPS-issued Notice of Suspension during the time allotted to you, or because you have lost your case during your Fort Worth DL suspension hearing? Even though it may seem that you are out of options now that your DL has been suspended over traffic offenses originally committed in Fort Worth, this is not necessarily the case. At the Law Office of Attorney Jack Byno, we are well-rehearsed in Texas traffic law and may be able to seek you a temporary driver's license. This temporary DL is referred to as an Occupational Driver's License (ODL), and is sometimes called an Essential Need License. It would allow you to legally drive yourself to work, the grocery store and other essential locations. If our law firm is successful in its attempts to acquire you an ODL, you must take care to follow any and all conditions it is bound to. These conditions may include when and where you are allowed to drive.
If you would like information from Jack Byno & Associates as to how we may be able to dispute your Fort Worth DL Suspension, or on DL suspension hearings, DPS suspension notices or Occupational Driver's Licenses (ODLs), please see our FAQ page, fill out our DL Suspension Contact Form or call the law office at 817-685-0912.
